Bavarian BMW predicts the SUV, which will reach beyond the BMW X5 with its size. The new 2018 BMW X7 will probably have at least seven seats. A few days ago the newcomer, which would hit the roads by the year 2018, was also confirmed with the first photo of the car under a tarpaulin.

BMW announced the production of a large SUV  in a statement on the strategic plans of the group. With this car they would like to secure the market leadership in the luxury car segment. At the top end of their offer the BMW X7 will surely play a very important role.

Details of the new model remain unknown. Probably we will find out more in the form of studies in any of the upcoming auto shows. BMW X7 is expected to be manufactured in the US, where cars of this size are much more popular than in Europe. An important market for it will also be the Middle East and China. We assume that the new X7 might share its techniques with Rolls-Royce hybrid, which is now called the Cullinan.

BMW has also confirmed that the BMW X7 will use the eight- and twelve-cylinder engines, as well as the new hybrid drive from the new X5.

Estimated number of units sold is between 40.000 to 50.000 per year. The main markets will be China, Russia and the United States.

Is the new X7 coming in two versions?

BMW X7 will be available in two versions. The first in the form of luxury “ferry”, which will take up to 7 passengers, the other is in the form of Escalade rival, an ultra luxury monster that will contain fewer seats. In the cabin we will find only four seats and will lead to an extremely high standard comfort.

The new BMW X7 competitors will probably be Mercedes-Maybach GLS, Bentley Bentayga, Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator and already mentioned in house model Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
