New Aston Martin plant in Macedonia?

Will Aston Martin DBX plant grow in Macedonia?

Aston Martin is looking for a new location for their plant where their upcoming crossover DBX will be produced. One of the best offers for the new Aston Martin plant came from the former Yugoslav republic of Macedonia.

Aston Martin is preparing everything necessary for the start of production of one of its most important models. This will be crossover DBX, their first model with all-wheel drive and crossover concept. At the same time English manufacturer is looking for a new location where this model will be produced. At the beginning they had no less than 18 potential locations. Then there were only four finalists left: Alabama (USA), Middle East and two locations in Great Britain.

Aston Martin remains silent, Macedonians unofficially confirmed their attractive offer

Informally, Macedonia is now back in the fight for this prestigious business because, according to Reuters, they offered very competitive conditions. At the beginning of the search for a new location for its factory Aston Martin managers already stressed  that any financial or fiscal incentives will be very important factor in the final decision. As told by unnamed sources, Macedonia was already removed from the list of potential locations, but now prepared a very competitive new offer.

Macedonian official in Skopje, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed the desire of the country to attract rich Aston Martin’s investment.

The Macedonians already succeeded back in 2009. They managed to impress Johnson Matthey, which produces catalytic converters for different vehicles. The investment in the factory in Skopje amounted to 45 million euros.

Aston Martin wants to produce 15 thousand vehicles per year by the end of the decade

Aston Martin, which is also partially owned by the Italians and Kuwaiti, will accept the decision on the location of the new factory in a few weeks.

And I know who is desperately waiting for this decision. The famous British agent James Bond, of course 🙂

By the end of the decade they want to produce 15 thousand cars a year, which is four times more than today.
