Porsche has used the tallest building in the world, the 828-meter-high Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, to launch sales of its first production electric car, Taycan.

There is a new show in town, in the middle of Dubai to be precise. The exterior of the 828-meter-high Burj Khalifa has been covered with as many as 1 million LED lights, which turned the building into the largest digital display in the world, covering 33 thousand square meters.

Porsche didn’t say much about how this was done, but the end result is quite impressive. As you can see, the building started with a shimmering blue display before showing the content of the advertisement itself.

Through these lights, Porsche is performing a night show in the middle of Dubai. And the main actor is? The new all-electric Porsche Taycan, of course.

The animation shows Porsche’s key cars throughout history, from the first electric Lohner-Porsche introduced in 1900, followed by 356, 911, 918 Spider, and 919 Hybrid, to the latest electric sportscar wonder, the 2020 Porsche Taycan.

It then reads “Get ready for the first all-electric sports car with a Porsche soul.” and Taycan is shown on the screen before the Burj Khalifa transforms into a giant Porsche logo.
