Ferrari is breathtaking for many people – and the reasons are solid. The new Italian creation is no exception: the presentation of the “family” 12-cylinder 2017 Ferrari GTC4Lusso will make a lot of rich people of all ages very happy.

Four-wheel drive and Four-wheel steering, with 681 hp – Ferrari for every day use.

Ferrari GTC4Lusso for all driving conditions, and for every day

The history of the modern Ferrari’s grand tourer models began in the early 70s with the 365. I guess there is no one who does not know the 456 from the early 90s. What about Scaglietti, and the most recent predecessor FF?

Ferrari claims that the FF significantly changed the structure of their customers. They are now younger and are making 30 percent more kilometers (or miles) with their Ferrari’s than the average of this Italian brand.

Typical rear lights, two double exhausts, three-part diffuser.

The new 2017 Ferrari GTC4Lusso goes another step forward. Its technique allows the driving pleasure anywhere, anytime, in tight corners or on long routes, on snowy mountain roads or in town, alone or in the company of three lucky ones.

Like the FF, Ferrari GTC4Lusso is a three-door “shooting brake”

The roof is lower at the rear end, for better aerodynamics.

GTC4Lusso design retained (apparently) successful, newly revived shooting brake concept, which combines features of a wagon and a coupe with a long roof, which is in this case lower at the rear end.

New GTC4Lusso provides the interior roominess and comfort for four passengers and usefulness of the large luggage compartment. Exterior here speaks for itself, but the cockpit is worthy of special attention. It is an exceptional combination of raw sportiness on the driver’s side and the prestigious luxury for the rest of the passengers.

Driver’s view: racing gauges and steering wheel.

The aforementioned typical customer is given a new infotainment system with a 10.25-inch capacitive touch screen. Since the driver’s airbag is smaller, the steering wheel can be designed differently – this has now more ergonomic switches and at the same time offers even more racing appearance.

Classic wonder from Maranello: 12 cylinders at 65 degree angle

Even the engine is in many ways the same as in FF, but we can say that for a new GTC4lusso it is improved and perfected. At the same 6.3-liters capacity the Ferrari GTC4Lusso is capable of producing almost 30 HP more, which means that now it has 680 horsepower.

They also gained 14 Nm of torque at lower rpm, maximum torque is now 697 Nm at 5,750 rpm.  It is also important that the engine develops maximum power at eight thousand revs per minute, which is already high for a conventional engine, not to mention the 6.3-liter 12-cylinder. At the same time the GTC4Lusso engine reaches 80 percent of the maximum torque already at only 1,750 rpm.

Like the FF, GTC4Lusso also has a Ferrari patented four-wheel drive 4RM, only that this one is upgraded in the key part – now it is (and apparently for the first time ever) combined with four-wheel steering, so the system is now called 4RM-S. Electronic differential lock and electronically controlled dampers are also there, maintaining the perfect balance of the car on the road.

Ferrari says that GTC4Lusso runs effortlessly no matter of the road conditions, on the snow, wet or slippery road, due to the exceptional stability.

Only 2.6 kilograms per hp shows on the road and in the cockpit…

Ferrari GTC4Lusso is a super sporty shooting brake for four people.

The new solutions in the field of aerodynamics, hidden in the grille, the air gap of the fenders, spoiler at the rear of the roof and the three-part diffuser, are expected to significantly reduce the air resistance coefficient compared to FF.

Therefore, the new Ferrari may be more economical, its top speed is 335 kilometers per hour (208 miles per hour) and only needs 3.4 seconds from zero to hundred km/h, which is 0.3 seconds faster than the FF.

But more than in facts listed above, the new owners will enjoy the engine sound, which can be rich and powerful with sporty driving and considerate and harmonious in the city.

How and why a new GTC4lusso can be fast and useful in poor driving conditions?

The solution lies mainly in the new electronic systems, but also in mechanical systems. Among the latest is a four-wheel steering, already known from the FF, which has joined improved four wheel drive. The combination is called 4RM-S. This mechanical combination, together with electronic differential lock, has an impact the electronic (sub) system SSC4 (side slip contol 4.0), that keeps the car in slippery surfaces from sliding sideways.

The result of the electronics and mechanics coordination is less work with the steering wheel and better control. The torque distribution to the front wheels is now optimal due to the improved four-wheel drive system. This allows up to 90 percent of torque to be allocated to the front outside wheel when (and if) it is necessary.

Faster and more accurate on wet and snowy road

Ferrari says that with the new configuration GTC4Lusso can exit the turns in the snow conditions 6 percent faster and more accurate, and by eight percent when driving on a wet road. At the same time they improve the properties dry roads. GTC4Lusso is eight percent more responsive and has improved driving stability at high speeds.
